Surprise Rooftop Engagement

A few weeks ago, a dear friend of mine asked me to help out with his proposal to his girlfriend. His idea was to surprise her on her rooftop in Hollywood at sunset, with all her close friends by her side. How romantic! I was thrilled to be a part of such a magical event!

The lovely Caitlin of Cup My Cakez provided the most AMAZING treats and they were all gluten free, dairy free, vegan, artificial free and non GMO... and don't be fooled by the lack of butter in these babies... they taste every bit as delicious as they look!! Honestly, no one could believe they were gluten free and vegan. It's just not possible for them to taste that good! Is it??

Here is the inspiration for the setup:

COLLABORATION // Minted and Vintage

We recently had the pleasure of working with the lovely Aracely of Minted and Vintage for an anniversary photo shoot. She styled everything so beautifully by using classic party store pieces and a bit of modern flair. And a little, DIY, of course (that piñata! swoon...)

We were smitten with her color palette and designed a custom garland to compliment her "confetti" theme. Adorbs!

We are also so glad to be featured alongside The French Confection and Circa Rentals. Lovely gals with LOVELY product. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful outcome with these ladies!

Everybody loves mimosas. Especially me! So for our Mothers Day styled photo shoot with Zooey Magazine, I wanted to reinvent this classic beverage!

Blood Oranges are in season from about November to May, so this time of year is perfect to try this sweet beverage!

INGREDIENTS ||

orange juice

Sparkling Wine

Vodka

Blood Orange Bitters

Blood Orange Liquor

1 Blood Orange

METHOD ||

pour 1oz vodka into a glass with 3oz chilled orange juice into a glass. Fill the rest of the glass with champagne almost to the top. Slowly pour in the blood orange liquor. then top with three dashes of blood orange bitters and garnish with a blood orange wedge.  Yum.

It kind of looks like a big stick popsicle!

DIY: Mason Jar Hot Cocoa

We wanted to kick off this adventurous blog series with a fun and easy DIY. So, the first part, of this 2 part DIY, is the Mason Jar Hot Cocoa. These make great Christmas gifts, party favors or can be made for a crowd at a camping trip or cabin vacation!

We love how they can be made ahead of time and stored - the Holidays can get so hectic! Bring them as a hostess gift or spike them with Baileys or Kaluah for a kick!

hot cocoa ingredients.jpg

2 cups powdered sugar

1 cup cocoa

2 cups powdered milk (to make this completely non-dairy, omit powdered milk and add another cup of the non-dairy creamer.)

1/2 cup non-dairy creamer

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons cornstarch

1 /8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Mini marshmallows

Chocolate chips

Mix all the ingredients (except the marshmallows and chocolate chips) in a large bowl. Spoon two tablespoons into an 8 oz mason jar and top with a handful of chocolate chips and marshmallows. Add hot water or milk (we like almond or soy). Shake your jar, remove the lid and enjoy!

Stay tuned later this week for part two of this fabulous DIY - the Mason Jar Cocoa Sleeve!
